Navigation Conditions

While marinas and protected bays offer shelter, venturing outside these areas may expose you to Force 3–5 Meltemi winds. Passages span up to 20 NM.

Regulatory Requirements

Foreigners are exempt from VAT, and APA is between 25-30%. Travelers must have a Blue Card/transit log and navigate through customs for Greek crossings. Many locations require mooring fees and fishing permits. After 2025, Turkish nationals will not sail under foreign flags.

Currency & Payments

The official currency of Turkey is the Turkish Lira (TRY). Many venues also accept Euros.

Language

The primary language of Turkey is Turkish. At marinas and tourist areas, English may also be used.

Access & Transportation

Air transportation to Gocek and Fethiye is available through Dalaman (DLM). Bodrum (BJV) is a hub for private flights.

Marinas & Berthing

Marmaris is the preferred marina for superyachts. Other notable marinas in the Turkish Riviera include D-Marin Turgutreis, Didim (Bodrum), and Gocek.

Beautiful settings for anchorages are available in the Aegean’s deeper waters as well as in Kalkan and Gocek.
