Available yachts

Cuisine & Provisioning
Treat yourself to local wines, tapas, fresh seafood, paella, and ensaïmada pastries. While most towns have traditional markets, the best provisioning is in Palma.

Culture & Heritage
Explore the numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Ibiza. Tour the Talayotic prehistoric sites and remnants from the Roman Empire. Enjoy culture through traditional fiestas, Moorish and Gothic architecture, and artisan shops.

Navigation Conditions
Short inter-island passages and calm Mediterranean waters create great sailing conditions. Tamed coastal breezes in the summer are countered by stronger Tramontana winds from the north in the winter and spring months. Natural shelter from the many calas (coves) offers a respite.

Regulatory Requirements
Unless a yacht is VAT-paid, the 21% Spanish VAT applies. APA is usually between 30% and 35%. All Spanish-flagged vessels must have a matriculación certificate. Understand and comply with anchoring restrictions in marine reserves.

Currency & Payments
The main currency on the Balearic Islands is the Euro (EUR). Most venues accept major credit cards, but bring cash for purchases from beach vendors and smaller businesses.

Language
The two official languages of the Balearic Islands are Spanish and Catalan. In main tourist areas and marinas, English is commonly used.

Access & Transportation
Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is the major international hub for the Balearic Islands. Local flights are offered through Ibiza Airport (IBZ) and Menorca Airport (MAH). Ferry services provide inter-island transportation.

Marinas & Berthing
Booking is required during the peak summer months. Top marinas and berthing sites are Puerto Portals, Club de Mar, and Marina Palma on Mallorca. Others are Marina Ibiza and Marina Botafoch on Ibiza and Mahón harbor on Menorca.

Premier Anchorages
Top anchorages on Mallorca include Cala Pi, Cala Figuera, and Puerto de Andratx. On Ibiza, consider booking a spot at Cala Jondal, Cala Comte, or Cala d’Hort. Ses Illetes in Formentera and Menorca’s Cala Macarella and Cala Galdana are other leading anchorages in the Balearic Islands.
Insider tips
Expert recommendations for Balearic Islands
When planning a trip to Ibiza during the peak season, reserve beach club tables well in advance, and expect a bustling scene during the clubbing season. Be sure to enjoy a sunset at Es Vedrà during your visit. Menorca is home to Mahón harbor, one of the largest natural ports in the world. On Menorca, anchor offshore to explore top-rated beaches on the northern coast, and sample Xoriguer, the local gin. When visiting Palma, stock up on provisions and enjoy incredible boat-watching as superyachts pass through the harbor. Secure an anchoring permit before sailing to Formentera
